Well, not really be new, but lurking for nearly 2 years!
In my teenage years I spent a lot of time in my parents garage, doing some woodworking, and learning to work on cars. I did a turbo swap on my 1980 Datsun 280zx, including a MegaSquirt fuel injection. I had a great time working on my project car, and had lot of help from friends.
One thing I could never accomplish was getting the AC working in the 280zx. After wasting hundreds of dollars letting professionals try to fix the AC, I decided to try to fix it myself. I don't honestly recall whether it worked well or not, but I enjoyed it enough to decide to go to community college for HVACR.
Got married my lovely wife during this time, and now have a family with three beautiful little girls. Currently in the field of commercial refrigeration (read: restaurant reach in refrigerators/freezers, walk in freezers, ice machines, beer systems, etc.)
So, my wife and I bought our first house a few years back, east of Dallas. I had lofty dreams of creating a smal workshop in the 3 car garage. That's when I found Garage Journal. I read a lot but did nothing. As of today this is what the shameful garage looks like.

Lol its pretty awful. Planning to start by cleaning everything out & tearing out drywall. Then I will run my electrical and refrigerant lines for mini-split prior to insulating the walls. I work 55-60 hours a week, plus on call rotation, and with 3 kids, free time seems to elude me. But I am determined to make it happen [emoji4]. Thanks for reading!
