Well I've been lurking around for a few weeks, really enjoying reading up on some of the threads here. Needless to say, I'm pretty jealous of a few garages here already

We bought our first house a year ago. My only stipulation was it had to have a good garage... so we found one with not only a 2-car attached garage but a detached RV garage, almost 1000 sq/ft. It will be my playhouse :bounce:

I haven't really done much since we've moved in... since the house to-do list was so huge, however last year I was able to re-wire some of the building as what was there... was pretty bad... so I went through and cleaned up what wiring I could and added a few outlets in the process. Also added a gable vent fan and some insulation to the garage door since it was a huge heatsink in the sun.

There are a few issues and whatnot as usual... so I will probably be searching around and posting up here with some questions soon.

Sadly I spent all weekend cleaning it up, this is actually the cleanest it's been since we moved in, but hopefully it should be a little nicer within the new few weekends.

Nice shop Blake. Great pics, I'm about to build a similar sized pole barn (18x36x14). Got any pics with a car or truck inside for scale?

I saw your post about the shop being uninsulated and hot. How about air movement, with only having one big door on the one end do you get any breeze or movement at all? I spec'd 2 windows in the back wall of mine hoping they'll help create a breeze through the shop.

Here you go. Inside dims are 41'x22' and trusses are a around 14.5' high. Even with a big car there is a good amount of room. Hard to tell but there is about 2 or 3' between the car the that table on the other side of the car.

Breeze doesn't help too much with the door open but does help some at the front of the shop. If I run the gable vent and open the regular doors near the loft that does let in some cool air from the back side, but I have to leave the garage door closed for it to work good. I can't remember the cfm on the gable vent but I got the largest one that I could find at the local Home Depot.

Thanks for the pics, they're perfect. I'd love to end up with as much room as you have but I think, @ 17' wide, mine will still be workable.
