Welcome from a former Atlanta area guy who got out alive. I am a 285 veteran and know downtown about as well as a taxi driver... never to be used again. I expect Bartow is still civilized.

Glad you got away from it! Downtown is the bane of my existence these days, 5 days a week.

To the Atlanta crowd: That traffic was crazy the other day when I went to pick up my Craftsman bandsaw in Stone Mtn. 1 hour to get there, 2 and a half back. People stop when they see an aluminum can on the side of the road for goodness sakes. Some of the slow down was understandable with several dead cars (off the road of course), a lot of slow merges, etc. But the biggest slowdown I believe was caused by one orange traffic cone just off the road from the fast lane. I hate 285, and 75. Bartow is still pretty small, but growing.

I've driven all over the city for over 20 years and hated every minute of it.

I do like Bartow though. I have several customers there including the county and City of Cartersville.

I did not mind it so much when I was a teenager living in Alabama. Going to concerts at the OMNI was fun, and I enjoyed going fast on 285, etc. Now my nerves don't enjoy it so much. Plus, the traffic is sooooo much worse.
