Hello all. I've been an avid reader of the forum for nearly two years. Finally getting serious about some garage renovation so I had to quit lurking.

Moved to Michigan from Florida two years ago to help elderly parents. We found a house on 5 acres backing to a golf course that has 12 garages :rocker: There are 6 attached spaces and two 1,500 sq. ft. detached with 3 stalls each. All are finished and heated. We simply refer to them as North (detached), South (detached), East and West.

All of the garages are in fine shape, just empty and plain. I'm starting the overhaul on the South garage soon and will start a thread when we begin.

Welcome to GJ! Nice looking place and what a find with all of that shop space!
I work at the Proving Grounds which isn't far from Prestwick.

Thanks for the 'warm' welcome. We're originally from Michigan (Plymouth), but after 8 years in Florida, it feels like we're on a different planet this winter.

We really love our new location, except for the part where it takes 20 minutes of driving to get to the roads that take you anywhere. LOL

@astroracer - good eye. Thankfully we're not part of the association. 500' of frontage and no dues! If you find yourself on the 15th fairway, stop and say hi.

That's what it takes if you want some real property !

Growing up (a long time a go), there was NOTHING out there ! Woods and a few farms.

Milford Road north from the freeway to town, there was 4-6 house along that stretch. The only other thing there was the Dairy Queen.

At least your close to M59 which is the major road out there.

We really do love the rural aspect. We've always been urban/suburban , so this is great. Rarely, we hear the drone of tires on M59 and when the wind is just right, from US23. I don't even mind the dirt roads. It just washes off (that's what I keep telling myself).
