New from Milwaukee, WI

Hi my name is Josh and I'm in the Milwaukee area. Full time firefighter and Guardmen in the Air National Guard. I have a detached 3.5 car garage that is un-insulated. Has it's own breaker box. Going to have a LED light system hooked up in the couple weeks. This summer I'm going to have the whole thing insulated with drywall put up along with a attic ladder for storage. I'm still not sure what to do with the floor. I'd leaning towards epoxy coating or something similar. This is a really great site with lots of ideas. Thank you very much for the add.

i too am from the area Mequon. i am thinking about doing pole barn steel from menards for my ceiling and drywall for the walls. Too damn cold right now.

Welcome I also live in the area. I just did our garage, Drywall on the walls Race Deck (found on CL other wise I would not have gone with white) on the floor and will put metal on the ceiling in spring.

My garage overhaul is in the works, I'm already talking to my electrician to have the electric redone followed by insulation and drywall. I'll be starting a project thread in the gallery by spring time. Right now just doing a lot of searching and reading up on this forum. Can't wait to have a nicer looking garage.

Here is a basic layout for my garage. I'm going to have ceiling receptacles for T8 shop lights. I dropped the LED idea since they are so expensive. These lights are good for 0 temps at 64 watts a piece. I have a 5000 electric heater now, though the heat (money) goes right out the roof. I'm looking at a 7500 watt heater instead to keep decent temps for the 800 sq ft with good Insulation and drywall.
