We live on a 45acre farm. Our house was built in 1915, we renovated it to make it "our" home. There is a big red barn out back, w/ rough cut beams and wooden dowels as fasteners. We have put a new roof on it to prolong it's life. I joined this forum to get ideas on building a 40x60x12 building, and so far I have enjoyed it. Future plans involve updating the house a little more (adding basement , attic rooms), cleaning out old barn (cutting out door openings for tractors, etc..), and raising our kids to be appreciative of the hard work that goes into making this piece of earth "our home". They called this farm the Golden 40, because the original owners raised everything on this land. We will probably never return it to that stature, but we intend to put some sort of stamp on it, during our tenure. Thanks in advance, to all the people that will give advice or constructive critism along the way.
