Just saying hello, found this site thanks to Jack Olson's. Currently garageless and trying to figure how to add one to my lot at the minimum cost (like everybody else).

Anything automotive, basic carpentry, I will give anything a try and am self-taught so I have had my share of "learning experiences". My wife bought me an early Christmas present, a Hobart 140 I have wanted to learn to weld for sometime so I can build some exterior railings and such.

JD: i would also like to learn to weld also. can you tell me (us) why you picked that Hobart 140 as your first welding tool?

here's a table i'm hoping to build soon because i now have all the materials. i like how you can move it around fairly easily if you need to and since it's about 500 pounds it should stay put when i drop it off its wheels. i'm going add that clamp rack that is on the other table and i might add a drawer or shelf, but the basic design i do like a lot.
