Hey all !!! New guy here from VA. I found this site by way of a member on a Toyota discussion forum I frequent, and became instantly hooked. I've been browsing pictures and threads for a while and finally decided to post.
So I recently bought a new house with my wife. We've upgraded substantially, moving from a 1300sq.ft. ranch starter home in the city on a 1/3 acre lot to a 2500sq.ft. ranch home deep in a rural area on 3.3 acres. The best part is I went from having no garage, to having 2 car ports and a 2 bay garage

I desperately needed garage space. I come from a long line of machinists, mechanics, and DIY'ers. I only had a 10x12 shed at the old place and it was like stuffing 10lbs of **** into a 5lbs sack. So this garage will serve as just that, rather than a storage space (no offense to anyone who uses their garage for storage space). We have 3 vehicles to maintain, soon to be 4, and 2 ATV's. So it'll be used to perform maintainance, as well as an area to continue modifications on my Toyota Tacoma. The best part though, is I will now be able to inherit a 1971 Volkswagen Beetle which I plan to perform a full on restoration of.

I can see that like many other forums there are some great people and good information on here.
Currently, I'm in the process of drywalling the interior. The inside of the garage is unfinished and was built in 2011. Once the drywall is complete, I'll hang some cabinets that I have showing up in a week. The plan is to get my storage situation figured out for all my tools, etc. and get some shelving put in place in order to support the restoration of the Beetle in an organized manner. I'll start a thread at some point to document this journey, although my updates will be slow. My work and family schedules are a delicate balance. Anyway, looking forward to posting more and getting some recommendations and chatting with some great people.
