Hello all, Jason from SW Wisconsin USA. Just found this site after seeing a link in Shop Floor Talk. I work for a large concrete and rock crushing company that operates out of Iowa and Wisconsin. My job consist of doing any and all earth moving, quarry stripping, road building, land clearning, etc as well as helping with our crushing crews and sand crew. I also do a lot of misc. task including moving equipment, welding and fabrication, some wrenching, and once and a while do get in and drive dump truck. Pretty much anything that needs to be done I do it. Grew up in a family owned earth moving biz and had to do everything there cause there was no one else that was going to so learned early on how to do lots of different task.

In my free time I'm a race car nut, spend alot of time working on a dirt modified but have worked on numerous race cars, Dirt Late Models, Asphalt Lates, Mustang Mini Stocks and USAR Hooters Pro Cup cars as well as doing some fabrication on some Busch(now Nationwide) Series cars as well. Love working and riding snowmobiles and four wheelers as well as pick ups, etc.

Last June the wife and I bought our first house so that has been keeping us busy. Lots of work but enjoying it as well. Always somthing to do.

Far as garages/shops go I get to work in a number of different ones depending on who i"m helping or what i'm doing. Our old biz shop has bout everything I need in it do do most welding and fabrication as well as working on the vehicles. Few other shops I work in helping friends out are set up similar, the shop we work on the race car in is pretty much set up for doing everything with that as well as a making decals for themselves as well as other racers and business. One nice thing bout our shop at the plant I work out of is that we are allowed to go there and use things too if needed.

Really enjoying this place so far, from what I have seen of it.

Just two quick pics of two of the shops I get to work in. First one is the shop I now am in for work. The second is my shop that I still own, back when we were still in biz.

The excavator is a 312 CAT. Actually the company I work for now bought it and I'm actually moving it tomarrow morning to sell it. We dont' use it much as I have a much larger one and that works better for most of the things I am doing.
