I'll still be reaching for my still smaller stubby pneumatic as it got almost 3x the power for a 3rd of the price and far more durable .
Good to see them smaller but until got 500ft/lb in that sort of size it not worth much to me ...

Stubby impact wrench just look "wrong" ! I come from the era when CP was the ONLY gun a professional would own !
At least their 'trying' to build an impact suited to commercial automotive work. Granted they are not there yet but these new stubbies give hope they are heading in the right direction. Its a tough one, for daily auto techs to down pneumatics these cordless need to be more powerful, much smaller, much stronger/durable and price needs to drop dramatically. Not an easy job, in the meantime focussing on other trades and the homeowner market is serving them well.

Nothing wrong with progress but Mr. B is correct. A stubby air impact is about 450 ft/lbs as well as lighter and more maneuverable even with the hose.
The high and mid torque have replaced air which is awesome. But die grinders, air hammers and stubby impacts need more work before professionals can dump their air compressor.
My stubby NS1600F is over 600ft/lb, composite and tiny, hits like tyson or as gentle as a lamb as so much control .
For in shop use you can't beat pneumatic, I used air hoses for more than 3 decades so got efficient at it and have minimal draw backs from the hose .
under hood or in cabin then battery quite useful at times but for most stuff it pointless bulk of tool and cash for piss poor handling/power/control .

SP tools has an interesting small pneumatic stubby, its 1.1kg /450ftlbs / and tiny. Its around $199 without any discounts/deals. Though it don't look as refined as the Facom Nano and the SP trigger looks a bit crude. I have a 'mini' Kincrome 1/2" which is not a stubby but its small 1.3kg 11k RPM & an honest 550ftlbs. Nice composite gun that owes me less than $100! Never worry about batteries, chargers of duty cycles just give it hell.
