I have the DC on a remote, each machine has a blast gate which I open manually for whichever machine is being used. The cyclone is new on the chip barrel, I used to just have a cyclone lid on it, but found as the barrel filled, more and more of the chips just ended up in the DC. The cyclone is the Onieda Dust Deputy, I will have to see how it performs, but it does come highly rated. I had the barrel all ready, so I just had to make a top to fit the cyclone to it. The ducting is much nicer than having to drag hoses around and connct to all the machines like I was doing before.
Your right, no wood lathe, just not something that has been a big draw for me. I do have a metal lathe though and a milling machine. I do a variety of woodwork, but I prefer building furniture, particularily craftsman style. This is the dresser unit I built last year; it's the last piece of our full bedroom suite I had been working on for quite a while.
