New garage build with attic

I have been looking around here for a while and this site has been great for getting ideals. I am about 80% finished with just siding, hanging the doors and some grading left to do.

The garage is 24x26 with a 12/12 pitch roof so it has a 12x26 room upstairs. I did all the work minus concrete and putting the shingles on. I had some help with framing and putting the trusses up but everything else has been just me with my wife lending a hand ever now and then.

Thanks for looking
Chris

These are the plans

This is where the concrete guy messed up and but the wrong block in and had to rip it out.

Then with the trusses up. We used a scissor lift to hang them it went smooth took about 6 hrs.

That's a nice looking place. I wish my local code allowed me to build high enough for an extra room like you have. That is a VERY nice feature.

Very nice garage. Real similar to what I am about to build. I liked the extra room upstairs and had my truss guy design them with an 18 ft wide room upstairs. Send more pics when it is trimmed out on the outside, love the Craftsmen style.

Code limits to 25' and we have it set at 23'5" now with 9'8" down stairs. We are adding a second floor to the house next year to match the garage that is why we went with 50yr shingles and cedar perfection siding.

I had them canterleave the truss so I could move the knee wall up to 6' instead of 4' like a normal truss only cost $50 more for all the trusses. I wanted the stairs out side to save space in the garage but that little deck has taken forever.

I will update the photos but I am off to Bermuda for a week so it will have to wait.

Thanks
Chris

Looks very nice! I noticed you have an overhang on the front gable end, but not on the back side...why did you do it that way?

Looks nice, wish I would of put the stairs on the outside sometimes. Definitely saves some room inside. I would have to have some sort of overhang over the steps near the backdoor just for when it is raining, and fumbling for the key to unlock the door:)

Those are not the doors I am going with I am using this.

I wanted to put in an overhang in the rear but did not have time and the scissor lift I had could not be used back there. I finished the deck and got my framing inspection so now I am installing the doors over the next 3 days wish me luck. I got the doors from HD and they left out my torsion tubes so I have to call and get them sent. Oh well
