New garage door, balancing problem

Hi all,

Installing 2 new garage doors. Each are 10'w x 9' h.
Everything is installed and we're in the process of setting the torsion springs. There are 2 springs for each door.

I get to 33 quarter turns, test the door and i can raise it but it balances at about 1' off the ground. Way to heavy pushing the door up.
At 34 turns, it balances about 2' off the ground.
At 35 turns it's lifting itself off the ground and we have to push to keep it down.

What is the problem?

Thanks all!

I prefer to have both my doors a bit light so they do not bang at the bottom. They are balanced about a foot off the floor, then I use my foot to bring it on down. Mine are uninsulated, so there is a ledge for my foot. it may change as the springs surfaces work against each other anyway. Do you have any lube on the springs? That likely will make a difference. Look up what type is recommended for the torsion spring.
