New Garage, flooring ideas

Hello all-
I'm having a new garage built and need ideas for the garage floor.

My project is actually a 36x24 footprint with a nice apartment on top, the lower building is separated into a 22x24 garage and a 14x24 gym. I already know what i'm doing for the flooring in the gym, but not sure of what to do in the garage. Since this is brand new concrete, would Epoxy be the smart option?

I tinker on cars a little bit, will probably have a welding machine in there eventually doing small bits of work. I like old cars so I expect them to drip oil and etc.

I live in Texas where it is hot and humid, no snow.

Thoughts/Ideas?

Our most popular products are our SPGX one part polyurea and our Armorclad 100% solids 3 layer system. Both will work great.

I was looking at the ArmorClad, that is likely the option I think I will go with. What are your thoughts on clear coat? Is the two step HD clear coat worth it?

If your garage is a 'working' garage, which most GJ Members garages are then most definitely you need the 2 part Military Grade topcoat. The standard one part included topcoat is not as fuel or solvent resistant. Great for parking not the best choice for spilled fuels, oils, etc.

I've looked through here quite a bit and have a lot of ideas, but are there any good online galleries with just epoxy floors with different colors/wall paint configurations. I need to start developing my "theme" for the garage and I'm struggling with what color floor to do.

Porcelain is the strongest floor you can do. Search porcelain in title only in search function and read.

I haven't seen too many examples of this that I really like, but would consider it. Why would I choose porcelain over epoxy?

Longevity, less worry about things like hot tire marks, etc... easy repairs (if you even need it), less prepwork usually, cheaper if you shop around (and install yourself), etc...

As bdamico said, search and read. I've seen a zillion threads on people with issues with other floors....have yet to come across a thread of anyone with issues on a porcelain floor.

I'm now also considering Delta Dye stain, and then a sealer (maybe SEC sealer?) and coating both the gym and the garage. Thoughts?

I have about 6-8 more weeks before everything with the project is done, so I have a little bit of time to figure it out but getting close to decision time. (I want to do the coating as quick as possible because i have my car in storage and would like it back home)

I'm about ready to coat my new shop's floor. 36 X 60
Last shop I had built, we used a vendor on here's epoxy. A one-coat deal. It scratched & scuffed terribly. Simply moving the tool chests, equipment, etc., into the garage really mucked it up.
Recommendations on a coating (not tile) that will hold up better?

Well... My building still isn't finished, but we look to be in the final weeks. I have since decided to use Delta Dye / SEC sealer in the gym, and likely a polyurea coating in the garage. Now to figure out which one is right for me. ~528 sq. ft.

Gym is done. It is hard to get a good pic of, but it turned out pretty nice. I went with the Olive Delta Dye. I'm thinking about using SEC in the garage now actually.

I recently applied Armor Garage epoxy to my floor then covered it with Swisstrax. Can post photos when the garage is done. Currently installing NewAge cabinets, some of which will be listed in the classified section for those interested.

If you have any questions about my flooring install, please ask. Both were rather easy and both are durable.

Finally finished the garage floor. Turned out pretty sweet.
