I'm in the process of building a new 30 x 48 Garage attached to my house and I need to decide on the number of Doors and their size. The doors will be on the 30 ft. side and face the street. I was thinking about two 12 ft wide doors. Does anyone have any suggestions on a better size or number of doors?

my new garage is 34x40 on the 40 foot side we put 3 8 footers and put one 7 footer on the back corner i can put 5 cars in easily. and could squeeze more without the stairs or withthe wheel dollies, i think i could turn them sideaways and maybe get 11 or so. wouldnt be able to breathe in there though

2 x 12' sounds good unless you are trying to park three across at the very front of the garage all the time.
It's symmetrical and a 12 foot door is wide enough for just about anything that can be driven on the street.

If you were parking three across the front, a 16 and an 8 would be better. Easier to park three across and you still have one big door to get stuff in and out of.

3 x 8' leaves you without any big doors and your sheer walls sections are now 18" instead of 24". That may or may not be harder to deal with.

The awesome part is that it is 48' deep. :) So you should be able to park either the left car or the right car far enough back that you can get a car into and out of the middle without moving the others. Really depends on how full it will be, how big the vehicles are and whether that middle car will be used every day or occasionally. I think if I had three cars that would be in use daily, I would prefer the 16 + 8 arrangement.

That being said, I may not have the best advice. I have a 20x20 two car garage and a 24 x 30 attached shop. All of my driven cars are parked in the driveway. Only the motorcycle and the projects actually park inside......
