This new house/project took longer than expected to get off the ground but it's finally started. Like many projects, my original outlook was the garage would be fitted with lots of cabinets and gadgets but then reality (i.e. budget) sets in and my expectations have been reset ... I'll have to pace myself.
Here's the current plan:
Doors: 8x16 & 8x8
Size: roughly 33' wide x 27' deep
Concrete: 4" ABC, #4 rebar matt at 18" OC, 5" thick concrete 4000 psi.
Flooring Finish: Colored concrete/earth tone (Garage, not house), Sealed.
Lighting: (10) 4' LED/strip
Electric Car stations: (2) 1" conduits w/50 amp circuits for wall stations to charge electric cars. We don't own any now, no current plans to buy one but I'd like it 'ready' so we can hang a fast-charging station on the wall if needed, or simply future-proofing of home.
I've bought a new track home before but this is the first custom build so we've been very, very involved with every detail. Even up to this point, just verifying dimensions (not every dim is on every sheet/plan) and working with the subs for decision-making onsite has been fun but demanding - i.e. fun discussion like "Where exactly does the gas and electric come up into the kitchen island? Well that's up to you Mr. Owner, where do you want it?" Those kind of details just weren't in the Plans.
