After selling our house and moving in one of the first things to get started on was the detached garage. The new place has an attached garage that is used for the daily drivers and other misc stuff. The main purpose was for my car projects and occasional wood working projects. The budget was $25k and I’m happy to say we did it. We hired out all the dirt work, concrete, and construction of the shell to the point of weather tight. We then did, electrical, insulation, drywall, paint, lighting and flooring. The garage is about a year old now and has meet our needs perfect. Size is 26 x 30.

Started off with the contractor dropping off some equipment and quickly clearing off the sod.

With all the permits in hand the footers were dug in no time.

and forms in place.

Footer and rat wall all done and compacted gravel for under the floor.

Fresh floor.

The garage design started as a Menard's kit that we made some minor changes to. Framing went quick.
