Hi all, I'm a new homeowner looking to convert a small one car garage into a workshop, primarily woodworking but it will probably end up being a "for everything" workshop.
Because I just got the place, I'm starting from scratch with the garage and that's what drew me to this site. Trying to find ideas on where to start and what I should be aiming for. Especially the forum seems like a great place to share ideas and get inspiration, so I'm looking forward to reading a lot and getting involved.
I won't get too into it because this is just an introduction post, but the garage was kinda abused by the previous owners and they made some confusing decisions that I could use some opinions and thoughts from you guys on. As you can see from the pic below, they had drywall that was unpainted and left it like that. Then, I'm guessing they washed their car with a hose or something because there's water spots all over the brown drywall paper and it looks hideous. There's also a few spots where the drywall got banged up, and on the left there's a piece of drywall placed horizontal on top of the existing drywall for some unknown reason.
Anyways I'll probably make a new post with more details asking advice. For now I'll just say I'm happy to have found this site and community, and am looking forward to participating.
A picture of my starting point.
