Everyone,

Pics of the new garage. Thanks for posting the Seville cabinet deal. I purchased two for $48 with the free shipping and installed. Nice cabinets with a good dwg for wall installation. Thanks for the gent who mentioned that you cannot hang two of the Saville cabinets side by side and obtain 16inch center mountings without a plan.

My benches are still in the basement and will be moved out to the new garage after summer vacation.

Boyd WHo, Demondriven and RbrtWhyt,

Thanks much. I have saved for a long time to get this project done.

Yes, it has a basement. During the planning I realized that the cost to build the walls thick enough to hold the backfill and the cost to transport the backfill(dirt) was not much less than building a usable basement. So, the cost per sq ft went down dramatically.

The basement is a mess right now. I basically dumped all the stuff that was in the shed into the basement. I have lights and electricty in the basement. I will eventually make into a shop and storage.

First, I need to plan and execute a finish for the floor.

Oh yea, I placed tubes in two locations so that I can put a compressor in the basement with the line running up into the garage. I have a second tube but I have not identified a use for it yet but thought it a good idea to put it in anyway.

I left the major part of the back garage wall above the hardboard free of the wallboard and I installed pegboard for hanging tools, etc. The hardboard along the bottom will hold up better than wallboard with my 12 and 15 year old sons. I could see the skate boards, bikes and anything else with wheels flying down the driveway and into the garage.

I have some more pics of the build and will post later.

Scout Driver,

Thanks! I have some projects lined up and I can't wait to get started on them. We finished up this past Friday night. I have been in that garage ever night but tonight working on something. The last effort was hanging the Seville cabinets. Never would have known about them if not for this board. I love this board.

Right now, it is hot and humid in Virginia. So, every night this week I'm out there working and loose about three of four pounds in H2O.

Gents,

My apologies. I should have posted this under "Garage Galleries". Is it possible to shift this to the right directory?

I think I'll just leave it. It doesn't seem worth the effort. Agaim, sorry for being thick headed and putting this in the wrong spot.
