Just broke ground on new garage in Montrose, Co 6/16. It is 30x 30 26 ft tall with 10 x 30 storage up stairs. With (2) 10 ft by 10 ft doors in front. Has a 8x8 door in rear to access a 20 x 30 gravel area. Using Race deck on floor. Will be matching the house as to not look like done later. Here are some pictures of the start and I will try to keep updated.

I was curious why you placed the rear door in the center of the building and not lined up with one of the front doors? I'm guessing its not meant to be a drive thru? What is your access to the upstairs going to be? Stairs or drop down ladder? I'm really liking the looks of the 30 x 30 with room above.... Thanks for the updates

Had to move door over because of stair case. Originally was going to have pull down ladder but as we get older changed that idea. Yes there are going to be 36" stairs. Underneath the landing will be my in floor heating items. I put door on other side would block my car lift. Outside of door is roughly 30 x 20 area so will probably use gravel.

Nice build. What are your planned uses for the loft? I can think of many, just wondering what yours were.

Well its 4 weeks and a day, the roof is on, the soffits done, all the rough electric is in. Ran 135 ft coduit to a new panel 100 amp just for the new garage. My lift will be moved from the house garage, when done. Insulated yesterday, dry wall started today and stucco tomorrow. In the pictures the black felt is the height of the stone work to match house rock. Garage doors are here will be put in as soon as drywall done and painted hopefully end of next week. will post pictures of drywall in soon.

Nice start. Man, I envy you guys who have the space to build a nice BIG garage.

I feel the same envy each time i see garages like this. Nice design, nice construction (esp like the black paper instead of tyvek) and great material selection. Will be a compliment to your house for sure.

Up here I've only got a 33' x 122' lot to play with - had the thought recently of cashing out and moving somewhere like this. Open space and room to enjoy it. Houses around me are selling regularly for $1.7 million dollars (yes, for a 33 'x122' no typo).....should be able to fund one nice garage with the proceeds.....

Nice work.

Thank you for your kind words. The dry wall should be all up this morning. The tarps are required for inspections must be dried in.

VERY NICE !
Did you have the plans drawn up, or did you a kit ? I bought a place in Colorado Springs and am hoping to build a 40x40 similar to the one in the following link :

http://www.cadnw.com/details.asp?plan=G4040A

Any idea what the cost on this project is ? I can't wait to get mine built, but I'm 2 years off...

Looking really good. Going with the stairs and not the pull-down stairs is going to be much better, even with the little bit of floor space you used up.

I had the plans drawn up. Concrete is expensive here. Looking at about $55 a ft. The problem is you keep adding different stuff, Stairs, reataining wall, etc.

Looks great !! Question about the radiant tubing. What size pex did you use and how did you come up with the decision to go with the size you did? Thanks !

I had help from the plumber. I used 1/2" tubing. He said to make the runs close to equal lengths, about 250 ft each.

Started Racedeck flooring this weekend. The flooring is very easy to install. Now I have to go back and cut edges in. The Seville cabinets are nice, they have very good directions to put together. All the holes line up very good, not like so many things that the holes dont line up. Takes a lot of time to put together.

How much is this flooring per sq. ft. ? Do you have dealers in Danbury, Ct. area or can I buy it direct?

Thanks
