The garage is finally done...the actual construction, that is. Now I'm working on wiring as I have time. It is 28x48.

First, great looking garage, and nice toys.

Second, Hey! I am hoping to build mine the same way. I have a double lot, with my house on one side and a vacant lot next to it. The house is a 1940 craftsman house, typical build: narrow up front, long on the sides. Because of the way the lots and house are arranged, it would be a squeeze to access a garage from the side. But, I have a long and decently wide size to work with, around 35X60, so I am thinking of building a garage around 30 ft wide but a little more than two cars deep.

How much of an area do you have in front of the garage doors? I am thinking of making the access in the rear. Keep the neighbors out of my business, y'know?

Sounds real similar to my arrangement. In the next couple days, I'll try to make a sketch of the garage/lot dimensions, and send it to you.

Nice garage! That is exactly what I am going to build real soon. What is the pitch of your roof. What was the total cost of the project?

ALL building materials except electrical: $10500-11000

Concrete work (includes concrete slab, a concrete approach at each end, gravel for fill and driveway in back, tearing down and removing the old 12x20 garage and slab, and laying a course of blocks around the perimeter): $9100

The construction was done by friends, so I don't have any cost info there. I'm doing the electrical/lighting little by little as I have time, so I haven't really kept track of material costs for that.
