If these are actually made in Canada to the same quality as the older Gray stuff then $53 for a 15" 1/2" 40 tooth ratchet would be a pretty decent deal.

Signed up for the draw.

The new head seems to have more teeth than the old head 40 vs. 32 or 20.
When they release this in a 3/8 or 1/4 long handle with 40 (or more) teeth and a hard handle im all over it.

3/8 is listed in the draw, but not in the new tools supplement... kind of weird

The fit and finish looks a bit better on these then there older style. They need to make a 3/8" with more teeth, 60 would be nice. Thanks for the heads up on the contest. I hope one of us wins!

I own both of those and actually paid less than that site is asking for them brand new. I also own a old Gray-Bonney ratchet that is every bit as nice as my Williams tools. That is why I called it a "decent" deal and not a great one.

I bought a handful of Williams ratchets recently and forgot where I bought them from. I got a better price on the pearheads and not quite as good as the 53 series. The only thing I don't like about the 936 style is the handle seems a but small. Other than that they are nice

FYI: i went looking for a new sealed head in 3/8 today at the dealer.

They didnt have either the 1/2 or the 3/8. He called Gray and theyre not expecting the 3/8 till march-april.

I also asked if the new head was going to get put on the hard handle (plastic) ratchet... Gray says its not happening. I like gray, but to me it would make sense to launch the new design with the "deluxe" hard handle... Oh well

The hard handle in the old head is $60. The dealer expects the new head, in the regular handle to be 35 ish when its on promotion. He expects it to be in the new "summer " promotion flyer.

I emailed Gray over a week ago regarding the ratchet's country of origin, so far no reply. Anyone know?

Not quite enough resolution in the photos to see for sure, but it looks like the word "Canada" is on there...

For a tool manufacturer's flyer, that's quite a good price. Most of the better deals are tool dealers, particularly online ones, that are willing to further discount. Looks nice, I want one.

I love their tools, but you have about as much chance an email answered by Gray as winning a large lottery. Call their 800#, which can be found on their website, they are very helpful and can find out the c.o.o. for any of their products.
