I noticed the new logo when the current flyer came out, but this new site must have gone live within the past few days...

Big improvement!

Great tools and the new website is much better then the old one.

Still like the fact they make the classic look tool box with handles. Wish they would bring back the orange hard handle screwdrivers like their ratchets :(

they are pretty reasonably priced too in the specials flier. Can you buy this stuff in the usa, whats the best internet supplier if so?

Also is it all made in canada?

Orange handle screwdrivers are aawesome, got some! Some is made in Canada, some in the USA and some in Taiwan! I've got universals from USA, pliers from USA, wrenches from Canada. I am not sure where the current line of screwdrivers is from, my guess Taiwan.

their sockets, punches/chisels, prybars, line wrenches are made in canada
the rest is china with a couple usa tools peppered in

they moved their combo wrench production to china. i want them to bring their wrench manufacturing back to canada badly.

their sockets are awesome. i only buy gray sockets (NOT grey pneumatic)

Do you have any proof of this?! :wtf:

I have never seen a Gray wrench not made in Canada & I'm extremely sceptical regarding the accuracy of this claim...

I haven't seen any newer wrenches in person since the local dealer closed but pretty sure there a thread on here with a photo showing the made in Canada on the back side of the wrench.

I don't remember the thread you speak of, but you're quite right.

The wrenches pictured on the website are simply newer, but they are still made in Canada. For that matter, most of the wrenches pictured in the current print catalogue (which is 5 or more years old) are of the newer "GRAY TOOLS" style, so this is not really "new" per se...

SAE & metric combos pictured along with an older DOE:

Hello Jvitez,

Thats a really nice roll cab:thumbup: I really love the classic look and its so nice that they still have a selection in their line up.

How have you found it? I had a look at some when I was in Nepean in September.

Thanks Gareth

Very happy with it overall.

Pros:

-Excellent quality, sturdy, very nice powder coated paint, will last my lifetime as a home hobbyist.
-Lots of drawers make organization very easy.
-I love the handles, very easy to grab and pull. It feels better than the usual rolled lip of most roller cabinets.
-The friction slides are fine. They're smooth and easy to use once lubricated. It feels no different than standard quality ball bearing slides to me.

Cons:

-I wish it were deeper or wider. Some long wrenches and extensions required me to lay them in diagonally or transversely, which uses up more space than if they would fit longitudinally (but who wouldn't want a bigger toolbox :) ). I'd prefer a deeper full width drawer at the top of the roller cabinet or bottom of the chest for my sockets in Hansen trays, but these drawers are too shallow, so I have to put the sockets too far down for my liking.

-No handle on the chest lid. I'm a medium sized guy, so I have to reach a bit to get the lid all the way up to lock the hinges so it doesn't fall back on my fingers. Wearing thick heeled work boots in the garage helps, kind of like elevator shoes. :) A handle on the front of the lid would be nice, but I wouldn't need it if I was a bit taller.

So all in all, my criticisms are really nit-picking. And it just looks so cool!

I've always been impressed with the look of their tools but have never seen any.... they seem scarce here is the western part of the USA.

Can you buy this stuff in the usa, whats the best internet supplier if so?

These questions keep coming up but there never seems to be an answer. I know that Stuey exchanged some E-mail with Gray Tools customer service and never got an answer. You can have the best tools on the planet or the slickest Web page but if folks cannot buy your product it really doesn't matter.

I did some research and found that TheToolStore.ca in Leamington, Ontario sells Gray Tools. On the Web site they say they will ship overseas. I just called them and inquired if they will ship to the US and was told YES.

I don't know anything about this company and have no connection to them. It may be an option for those wanting Gray Tools in the USA.

For whatever reason they don't respond well to email. I called them and the lady who answered answered all my questions.

Phone and ask where the product your interested is made. I was looking at buying a marquis style tool box and phoned Gray and asked them where it was made and they said China.

Which is pretty geigh because the lower end tool boxes are made by Gray in Canada, with the premium marquis line made in China!

I just called their customer service to double check, and they said the marquis series is not made in Canada. However all the other lines are.

One problem with the site is the dealer locator. They list every company that a rep has talked to, not places that actually sell the stuff. I was talking to a store today that said even though they have been listed for years, they have never ordered anything and wished Gray would remove their name.

Another is that to get sale prices, a store has to order a certain amount per month. So few of their dealers can offer the promo prices advertised on the site.

Its really a shame their distribution ***** so bad because the tools are top notch.

So true. There are 2 bricks and mortar tool dealers around here that sell Gray. I had good dealings with one, and wanted to order some Gray sockets that were on sale in their promo flyer, but the dealer said they weren't "taking part" in that promo so they could order it but the price would be higher. The second dealer who also sells Wright interestingly enough were happy to order it a the promo price since they bought enough to get the better price from Gray.

I still use a Gray adjustable wrench and a few sockets my dear old dad bought in the 1970's. Top quality Canadian made stuff (except for the Marquis line of boxes it seems.......).
