Thanks for the photos. I am interested in doing a 30x48x14 and would like to see more as your build progresses. How tall are you going?

Tks, I am just north of Spokane and talked to several builders at this year's ag show. I think a 30x48 will be a good size.

We have made alot of progress on the build. we poured concrete with a vapor barrier and rebar the next day we saw cut the concrete for crack control i was really happy with how straight the lines came out. i wasnt able to get any photos of the concrete pour in progress.

next i called the door company and they installed the three big doors.

the next weekend we put in 300 feet of french drain, 100 feet of waterline and 100 feet on electrical conduit. i rented a toro dingo, what a great machine i highly recomend it if you have any trenching to do.

then it was time for interior, i decided to frame the walls up only 8 feet to protect the insulation i will cover them with 7/16 OSB. I also added a loft. i got some bad info at the lumber yard about the size of the beams but a call to my carpenter friend gave me an idea for a fix and it is rock solid.

A co worker scored some pretty nice cabinets with a double basin stainless sink for me. the counter top is 12 feet long and it has 12 feet of upper cabinets that i have not finished installing. i love free stuff

I had 3 loads of crushed rock delivered today and the electrician started this week also. i am really happy with this project and i cant wait to move in. thanks for reading.

Does the Champ go in the side door under the loft? Very similar to what I am going to build. But probably only 40 long.

Very nice build. Those trusses are very nice, as well. What are they made from?

the trusses are made from 2x8 with 2x6 sandwiched in between. kind of hard to explain but there are 5 different 1 1/2 inch boards sandwiched together on the bottom core of the truss bolted together with 3/4 inch bolts. i pulled a friends 150hp outboar (about 450 pounds i think) off one last weekend and the truss didnt make a sound there was no delflection at all. the name of the company that builds them is blue ribbon buildings.

okay here is where we are at with this build it is nearing completion, well close enough to move some stuff in. My good friend mike of R and B electric finished the wiring and we got the final inspection last friday, this was the last permit and inspection needed.

we put some nice looking lights on each side and a dusk till dawn light in the peak.

there are 24 4 foot flouresents and four 60 watt bulbs. the bulbs are on a motion sensor so they come on when the door opens. track lighting was added above the counter lots of outlets, two 220 plugs and two ceiling fans. and a motion light above the man door.

Steamfitter, what are the dimensions on your loft? How high is at the peak?
How high is the ceiling beneath the loft? Thanks.

Very nice. I am starting a 30x48x12 this week (thread coming soon). I am planning on a loft as well, would you please take some more pictures of the loft, how it is secured, etc.

Thanks!
