Hi everyone! My name is Ken and I am new to the Garage Journal and just got my first real shop! I live in BC Canada, been cruising around the site and have found a ton of real good info on here! I love to build hot rods and customs and am real anxious to get my new shop set up! We moved in at the beginning of November and have most of the house stuff done so hopefully will be able to get some time to work on finishing the shop and figure out what to do for heat. The previous owner started building the shop in 2004 and never finished it! It would kill me to have a shop for that many years and not be able to spend the winters in there! It's a 50x30 with a heated floor system, it's far from how I would have designed it but I will make due with what is there. It's got an office/man cave area that will have cable, internet, flat screen and all the stuff that is a must in a man cave! It is even plumbed for a bathroom WITH a shower! We (with a BUNCH of help from a ton of friends) did the move in two days so everything for the shop just got chucked in there so excuse the mess!
This is the future office/man cave area with the bathroom across the back.
The center section has a 16ft ceiling, perfect for the 12000lb hoist that I picked up from one of my buddies that was closing his garage after 30 years at the same time I bought this place so we just moved a bunch of the stuff from his shop to mine.
A few of the other goodies I picked up from my buddy.
And my father in law gave me a pretty cool shop warming gift, a $3500 pressure washer that he bought new 2 years ago and only used it twice. He said I would get way more use out of it than he ever would so he just dropped off in my shop!

Here is my floor heating system so far, just have to decide which would be the best way to go for heating the water.
And finally a place to park my hot rod for the winter at home!
