Sooo.....

Longtime lurker. Finally made the jump to being a garageowner, errr homeowner, earlier this year. :D Still have a quite a bit of work to do, but it is coming along nicely at this point. Made up my mind on quite a few things with the help of all the advice and info around here.

Garage is going to be mainly used for woodworking and general automotive maint. by a weekender. I would have like it to be a little larger than 20x20, but I'm happy with the trade off I made, as I ended up with a full basement instead of a three car garage.

Anyways, some pictures.

Here is a shot right after the second coat of epoxyshield. Spent quite a bit of time on prep work, and I haven't had any issues in the 4 months since we applied it.

Here is a more recent shot of the left side of the garage. You can also see the clear coat in this picture. I plan on putting in a sink there between the door to the house and the service door. One of my next two projects is to build a storage loft above the garage door and on either side of the tracks as well.

Here is the other side. Some basic FastTrack here, nothing special. I have some Gladiator cabinets coming that I picked up on sale on cyber Monday that will go along the right wall towards the back. Also going to to get a couple of the base units and an 8 ft section of butcher block to make a workstation. Planning on making a foldout workbench for the back wall, and also a carpenter's workbench for the front left of the garage. It is all a real big work in progress. :D

And a close up shot of the steps. :D

Looking forward to seeing everything else around here and getting more good ideas. :)

Possibly. I'm not worried about it though since I am in Indianapolis, and we plan on being in the house 10+ years.

if it ever comes down to selling, just put a floor mat there to cover it

I can just image the surprise on the face of the person who just bought the house when they think "Oh look, they left a floormat here, better move that." only to find the decal under the epoxy. :D :D

So, a few updates. None w/ pictures yet unfortunately.

Wife gave me some totally awesome Christmas gifts. I have a CMan tool chest on order (Midnight blue of course) and should have it in shortly to start moving everything over from my 8 hand boxes.

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...ls&cName=Tool+Storage&sName=Tool+Chest+Combos

She also got me a CMan table saw, and some assorted other stuff. Used some of the Sears gift cards I received to get some tool storage stuff and drawer liner for the chest when it gets here.

Still have yet to mount the Gladiator cabinets as we have been busy the last few weeks, but I finally decided how I want to mount them. Since the garage isn't terribly wide I am going to wall mount two of them as base cabinets, and then get the CMan 8 ft butcher block top and mount it over the top to get a workspace that is long enough for me, but not so deep that it keeps me from getting two cars into the garage. Also want to add a fold up workspace to the back wall of the garage.

Still haven't mounted the Gladiator cabinets. Lack of time. I did get a shelf put up yesterday between the door opener track and the wall. When the door is up you can't even really see it from outside the garage. I like that about it.

Attaching a craptacular cell phone picture until I can get a better picture today.

Floor looks great. Any issues with the logo in between the epoxy and clear? Pealing or bubbling? How did you do it?

There are a couple small bubbles. I think they are my fault though, as they are on the side I didn't smooth down as well.

As far as how I did it, I just got a regular old vinyl decal from the NFL Shop. I wish I had gone local and gotten a blue one made at a graphics shop though instead of the white. I put it down and smoothed it out. Then when I applied the clear coat I was just careful to apply it evenly over the decal. It almost seemed to soak in to the vinyl decal.

Here is a not so terrible picture of the wire shelf. :D Works great, I think I could lay on it/ do pull ups on it without any problem. Best part is that you can't really see it when the garage door is open.

When it gets warm enough to paint I will paint the 2x4 at the same time I paint the lower 30" of the wall gray.

I too liked it till I saw the F-in Colts logo, now I love it.

Thanks. :D

Got a good amount of work on my workbench done this weekend. Unfortunately I am going to be traveling the next few weekends so I probably won't finish it up until April. :(

If I may ask where did you get the floor graphic? Was it custom made or did you find a store selling them? If you found a store I'd like to see what other logos they carry. Thanks!

I actually ordered it from the NFL's online store. I have seen the vinyls carried in a lot of places though, including ebay.

Sooooooooo, summer was super busy as I took up racing go karts and didn't spend as much time on the garage as I should have over the summer. Spent the last few weekends working on it though, and have some pictures sitting on the camera at home ready to upload.

Finally got my workbench built, looks great, and will have to add the pictures to the workbench thread as well. Also got a tv shelf up and cable tv run to the garage. Just need to stain some of the wood to match the steps and it is good to go.

Here are some crappy cell phone camera shots of the garage as it stands now. Workbench is almost finished, I just need another piece of 1x to finish up the hole in front of the tool box. Very happy to have tv out in the garage now. Just need to get some bolt/screw/nail fastener storage and sort though all of my misc stuff and it will be in pretty good shape. Have some ideas from the storage thread that I want to apply as well.
