New guy here that has lurked for far too long. A couple years ago the Wife and I bought a house with a detached 40 x 60 foot RV garage. My first stop was The Garage Journal to get some ideas. I recently started a build on an all steel 8 x 40 foot loft. I will start a thread soon and hope others can pick up a few ideas, as I have from all the great info posted on this site.

ORR: can you post up some pictures of the garage or the new storage or both to add a bit of color to this intro thread? do so if you wish and might i suggest that if you do start a thread on your new project that you keep putting up posts of pictures, progress and asking questions because there are thousands of thread as you know. also as a new member you might want to put your location in your profile so some of the local guys might help you too.

welcome and ask questions if you have any.

cheers

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

I chose the name offroadrunner for several reasons. I own a company called Roadrunner but I have a passion for all things off road. My current toy is a super charged LS7 sand car. I have also crewed on a trophy truck team running the Baja Mexico races.

I am a bit reluctant to post many pictures of the current state of the garage. The house we bought was a complete gut job and all our worldly possessions are being stored in the garage. Over the next few weeks the household stuff will be moved into the house and my loft addition will organize the garage. Here are a couple progress pictures.

ORR: that is maybe the nicest looking loft I've seen. just saying you are making a loft and then seeing a picture of yours that you are making out steel tubing is a nice surprise. i sort of see the steel steps on the end. i use commercial steel racks in my storage units that hold a ton and your loft looks like it's built better.

i'm guessing you have specific plans for what's going up on the loft or underneath it?

i can almost guarantee that all of us have had a stack of stuff in our garage at times no matter how neat our garages look. yours looks awesome on the outside and will look great on the inside soon enough as you get the loft finished and all your things organized.

please add more pictures as you can here and if you do start a thread maybe put adding a heavy duty steel framed loft in your title to get more viewers in case you have questions or need any help it is nice to post and see members ideas. since there are thousands of posts and threads it's not easy to get noticed.

good luck and ask questions if you have any and best of luck with that project.

OffRoadRunner - dang, that's going to make for a sweet space! I'm jealous! I had what was classified as a "3 car" garage in Scottsdale, but it was very cramped. Barely fit my JKU and anyone in my neighborhood couldn't fit their full sized pickups inside. Looking forward to seeing pics of the progress.

Thanks guys. I am really looking forward to finally have a useable garage .

J P the sand car was built by a company in north Phoenix called Total Off Road.

The area by the stairs will be a caged in storage room. I also started a thread if any want to follow the build a bit closer. Here's a couple more progress pictures.

ORR: just an FYI. You are welcome to PM (private message) me if you have any questions about how to use the site and i'll be happy to answer or refer you to a MOD if i don't know.

also to gain a few more viewers for your thread you can go in your profile and copy and paste a link to your new build thread in garage gallery so others can just click on it to find it if you are posting on other threads.

To say I'm impressed with your build is not a strong enough word, but i am.

cheers

Had fun going with friends to some of the Best In the Desert races at Parker(425 & 250)Havasu &, Primm. Class 1 unlimited & Trophy Truck. Did not get to go to the Mint or Vegas to Reno.
Had the most fun out in the pits helping other guys when they had cars with problems.

He also had Tatum sand cars
