Just wanted to say hi to everybody on this forum.

For the past half year or so, I've been lurking around on this forum on regular basis. Last week I felt it was time to register.

In the future I will probably open a topic about my basement with my bikes and tools. I'm not a 100% mechanic, but I've always had great interest in the internals of motorcycles and cars. I'm a roofer in my professional life, for now.

In daily life, I drive a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser. That's a Touring edition with a 2.2l diesel engine, which was outsourced by Mercedes. I think Chrysler never sold a diesel version in the states of Canada.
My fathers daily driver used to be a 1996 Chevrolet K2500 Silverado with an L56 6.5l Diesel. When my father passed away we couldn't part with it so we still have it.
As a classic car I have a 1989 Pontiac Grand Prix LE with the 2.8l V6 engine. I purchased it from the son of the orginal owner (who passed away a half year prior). It is an all original car, everything works accept the radio. It's got 44000 original kilometers, about 28000miles.

My motorcycles are both Honda.
One is a 1983 Honda CL250S (maybe it was called a CT250Silkroad in the US).
The other is 1985 Honda VF750S. I imagine the VF700S being better known in the US.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for becoming a true member. The original 1983 VF's were 750cc in the US but at some point, an import tax was imposed on the larger bikes, so the Japanese mfgrs dropped down to 700cc for the US market. I had a V45 Interceptor (VF750F) and it was a great bike.

So is the VF750S what we called the Sabre (naked sport type) or Magna (cruiser type)? Show us pictures when you get a chance.

A VF750S would be named Sabre in the US.

Personally, I like the Sabre name much more.

Nice looking old VF. I always loved that color combination on the Sabres. Is it restored? If so, did you do it? It looks to be in perfect condition.

No it hasn't been restored. All things considered, it's in a good shape for it's 26 years. But it is far from perfect. Lift side panel has been repaired by one of the previous owners. The plastic rear cover could use some attention (missing a small name tage). Mirrors are scraped because the previous owner (a woman with zero bikeridingexperiece) had to push the bike through a her front door, trough a small corridor to her back yard.

I'm thinking of selling it. I just don't lik riding it as much as my CL.
