Hello, Ron here from the inland empire area of california. I thought perhaps I should introduce myself before getting on to asking silly questions about how to fix things that I should have figured out by myself.
I like old chevy inline 6's. Mostly from the 30s, 40s and early 50s. But, I like working on almost anything to be honest. As long as it is broken and has a way to be fixed (or improved for that matter) I will tinker with it for awhile. So, basically anything that allows me to hide in the garage and drink beer without getting yelled at.
In my line of work I deal with large diesel generators. Though I am in managment, I still know my way around a diesel engine as well as the electrical side pretty good. I'm hoping I can be of use to someone on this forum in those areas.
Finally, I ran into this site while trying to find some answers on working on this piece of **** 1980 forklift here at work. As mechanically inclined as I might think I am, hydraulics and nat gas/propane systems are not something I am very familiar with. At home when I repair something I am free to screw it up a few times and waste my own money figuring it out. Here at work my boss and the owner of the company both have the most marvelous 20/20 hindsight you have ever seen. They would prefer I did not make mistakes or use up company time doing things like learning. Hopefully I can find some help here on working on this forklift at least until I can get over the hump of figuring out how this thing works.
Guess that is it.
