New guy here from Calgary. Found this site through a sister site The Jalopy Journal. I'm into older cars, currently have a 1950 Chev and a 1964 Fairlane. I need a place to work on them so I'm going to be building my first garage this spring. Looks like it will be about 20' in depth and 26' in width.

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions that you'd like to share on things to take into consideration when I'm planning the interior layout please feel free to let me know!

Welcome to the GJ from a former Calgarian, James. I recognize your name from the HAMB, I'm a regular there.

Welcome to GJ. Lots of knowledge and good info here.

If you can, I would suggest making it deeper than 20'. If you are going to do almost anything under-hood, you are going to need more room up front.

Thanks for the welcome! Unfortunately I'm limited to 20' by the property, so I'll just have to make-do. My '50 is just shy of 17' and I'm thinking I'll leave the endwall free of benches/storage/etc, so I'll have a couple feet to shimmy around anyway.
