First off I've been lurking the forum for awhile and I have some serious garage envy. Slowly getting mine together but looking forward to a larger garage in the next year or so.

I'm a cabinet maker by trade but also do quite a bit of wrenching in my spare time. Don't like the idea of paying someone to do something that I can either already do or learn how to do. Don't have any real projects of note right now but have had many in the past, from a 1972 Dart, 1974 Duster, 1968 barracuda formula s, 1984 Trans am and a 1989 Chevy dually I built from the ground up. All of those have been sold a couple years ago when the kids showed up. Lol

Anyways I know you guys like pics so here's some of my current setup. It's only a 1 car but I manage to do quite a bit of work out of it.

TOF: nice looking shop and always nice to hear about all the work you are able to do in it. mine ends up like a storage unit most of the time so hoping to change that soon.

pretty easy to get garage or tool envy here so join the group, read a lot of information and i'm sure you'll fit right in.

ask questions here if you have any about the forum. we have a messaging system sort of like internal email we call PM (private message) in case you have a need to contact a member about something you don't want to post.

even though you sold all those toys so you'd have kids the skills are there so you can build or get new toys later. i have 5 kids and youngest are now 25 and seems like not long ago i was teaching them to eat, talk and walk.

Yes there will be larger shop in the future and defiantly some new projects. I already have all three of my boys (8,4 1/2 and 2) out in the garage regularly. They're all interested in anything mechanical and can't wait to get a project going with them. For now I'm making due with what I have and adding to my tool arsenal as much as possible. With garage and estate sale season here I will be out scouring deals

TOF: you have a lot in common with another GJ member that is a friend of mine in Portland, OR. he's got 3 boys also not far from your boy's ages and a stay at home wife to keep an eye on them.

The quad is my brothers. It's striped down for some maintenance work to get ready for the riding season. It's a 2013 sportsman 500 with a mild lift, rad relocate, clutch kit and 28" zillas.

Thanks! Yeah space wise it's not ideal, but it can work for you with a bit of planning. The current pics are like version 6 or 7 lol. Every time I bring home a new piece of equipment or project I have to reconfigure.

Unfortunately it's not mine but the family fleet is currently at 4 quads and a side by side that should be showing up in a couple weeks. It needs a thorough rebuild of all suspension and drive train but runs good. My brother picked it up in a trade deal. They're fun to ride and being all Polaris there's always something to fix on them. Lol

Yeah it is a small world. I was there from 1999-2001 I believe. They had amazing shop classes at that school. 2 mechanics garages, a bodywork shop with paint booth, electrical shop, 2 woodshops and a machine/welding shop. The school I went to after that only had a small auto shop and small wood shop with tiny budgets and hardly any tools.
