I guess I should get around to posting this...

Been a tool guy all my life, since I could hold a wrench.

Deep into the world of SK and older Craftsman. Lusting after a bigger toolbox and a bigger garage.

Engineer, photographer, and part time home shop mechanic, among other things.

Hopefully I can contribute more than I leech around here.

DP: have fun learning while we pick your brain. sounds like you'll fit right in. I hang in the tool section mostly so if you happen to see one of my many questions i have and have the answer please enlighten me (us) with your wisdom.

cheers and welcome

Welcome! Also from the Chicago area. Look forward to seeing your posts. There are a few threads to show off your boxes/tools.

Thanks guys.

Toolbox is a disaster right now. As funds allow, organization will happen, then pictures.

Most of my SK adventures live in the FB group, but I'll crosspost if anyone wants. Best one so far is my total teardown and rebuild of a SK 42470. Basic stuff, but a lot of people don't know you don't need to buy a rebuild kit for the non fine-tooth SK, just clean them out all the way. I've brought dozens back from the dead like this.

As for picking my brain, feel free. I'll be returning the favor in spades :D

Do you have any ideas for your future tool storage? Without dragging it out here, there are some really informative posts on here.

Thanks!

Future tool storage (as in boxes) will require some time, and maybe a new house, if it's anything more than just a small box for my basement (inside tools). Organization will take the form of wrench racks from Ernst, homemade pliers racking, and some form of improved socket storage.
