I will be looking for opinions in heating my 2-1/2 car garage - forced air or overhead radiant - I'll get into that when I'm ready.

I will also be looking at refinishing the exerior of my garage..re-paint or vinyl siding. I will search the forums for this as well.
Interested in floor coverings too.
Oh yeah...need to make all of these things DIY and on a tight budget.

Kind of saddened by the Wings loss last night.:( Congrats to the Pens.

Thanks in advance for your future help.

Welcome aboard from another guy in the mitten state.

One vote for vinyl siding... my last place had me scraping and re-painting the garage every 3 or 4 years. Our winters up here are brutal on most paints.

Hey Brian.
I'm currently getting my 2.5 car garage expanded and it'll be hooked up for heat shortly after. The concrete's been poured and the building material's in the driveway as of today.
I bought a 45,000BTU natural gas heater from Northern Tools last year when it went on sale. The 45K unit was enough for the 2.5 car sized garage but because of the extra footage the garage will have this winter I'll have to have two heaters running in tandem. That's OK, it'll be better than the kerosene heater and propane tank heater I used last season.

Don't forget, if you're going to heat the garage then make sure you insulate it well.

Are you in Detroit proper or a suburb?

Take care,

Alex
