I found my way here from a link on another tool site. Just interested in all things that can happen in the garage. I love to build things and have more stuff I want to do than I have room. Planning out my new "garage/shop" for when we move soon. I will be looking here for ideas.

Well, i just checked back on this one. Since I posted, we sold our house and just closed on a new one today. One of the plans is to add a 30x40 shop in the back yard.

I am currenlty working on a '85 GMC with a LS swap...

Once the shop is built, I will be restoring a pool table built by Frederick Ice Boxes and Billards from the late 1800's early 1900's. It was my Grandfather's and was used in the firehouse in Fredericksburg, TX while he was fire marshall and remained there untill he pasted away. My Dad set it up in the house I grew up in and last year gave it to me.

Well I made a mistake here, I had the spelling of the company wrong. it should be:

Ed. Friedrich, Manufacture of Billard Tables & Ice Boxes, San Antonio, TX.

If anyone has info on that company from the early days that they could share, that would be great.

I found this on wikipedia.org:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrich_Air_Conditioning
But the current company web site only has the Air Conditioning stuff on it.

Well to give yall an update, I have started my pad for my shop, it is only going to be a 24'x30'x12' pole building by ArkLaTex. We should be starting the construction the week of July 13th!

Here is a picture of the start of the pad:

It rained a bunch after we started the pad and put it on hold for a bit, here is a picture during and the access down the side of the house.

I will get some current pictures and start a thread on the construction of the shop.

Aggie: it looks like you have more rain on it's way, but it's summer so hopefully it will dry quick so you can get back to digging. good luck with the garage and that cool old pool table.

any pictures of the pool table to post?

do you have any questions about your new garage shop just ask and you might get more responses if you find threads in the garage gallery on the threads that the member is building a garage the same size or has just built one.

cheers
