Newbie here... I've lurked some here looking for information about various vises... and finally joined.

I'm an old tool nut... I have an eclectic assortment of old tools, including several vises. I also have a collection of vintage metalworking machinery.

I'll probably mostly be reading and learning here... but I may chime in occasionally after a while.

So... Howdy!

Welcome from Tallahassee, FL. Post pics of your shop and machines. We like pics here.

Ok... I'll hit the high points...

My shop is a 30x40 red iron building with a 20x30 tube frame addition, giving me 30x60 total...

It currently houses a '40 Ford Fordor, a '64 Fairlane, a '51 Ford F2 pickup, and a basketcase Model A Fordor...

My machine shop is housed in my basement... during the pandemic, I began rebuilding vintage Hendey Tie-Bar lathes. The first one I rebuilt was a 14x6, made in 1920...

I was still working on the drive system when that picture was taken.

After finishing that one, I began rebuilding a 14x8 that was made in 1921...

I also have a Cincinnati #2ML horizontal mill (1947)...

...an Enco vertical mill...

20171020_160513.jpg

...and a Brown & Sharpe surface grinder...

I'll stop there... I could bore everyone with pictures of my other machines... but I won't.

-Bore me with photos of vintage machinery? It's an empty promise until I see some empirical evidence (photos) that you have boring machinery. Harrumph!
