Hello everyone. There sure are some nice looking shops on this site. I recently started on my dream shop last summer. It's pretty much done now. I've yet to move every thing in. I am currently living 70 miles from the shop in another home we will be selling soon. I'm slowly moving stuff on the weekends. The pictured home and shop is where I will be retiring very soon.

Here is a link to my photoshows there are four photoshows concerning the shop starting with the ground breaking to completion. Feel free to check out the others if you have time. If you are on dial-up forget it.

Great looking shop! Where abouts in North Georgia? I'm in the process of planning to relocate there and am still trying to decide where.

mbingman,

I live in Forsyth County with a Gainesville address. If you are familiar with the area you'll know there isn't but a very small part of Forsyth County that falls in the Gainesville zip code. That means I'm on the west side of Lake Sidney Lanier. I spent six months searching for a neighborhood that did not have a home owners association (With all of those stupid communistic rules), yet was close to the lake that didn't cost a fortune. Also that had enough property to build a decent size shop on. I also wanted some privacy and lots of woods. The street is zoned r-2 LP (Residential 200 feet between homes...Lake Property) After my wife and I spent every weekend going on wild goose chases we found our dream home on line of all things. You gotta love the Internet. The house is 15 miles from Road Atlanta, 15 miles from Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, 15 miles from the Year One warehouse, 15 miles from Lanier Speedway. It's 45 minutes from the mountains and one hour from Atlanta proper.

1943,

Thanks for the details. Will have to talk the wife into taking a look in the area. She's pretty set on something in Cobb county, but, I'm hoping to find something very similar to what you have. I've told her I'm only moving one more time, so the new place has to have the room I want.

Very....VERY...nice. Good luck with it. I retired this year and having a decent garage to hang out and work in is a big plus. Another part of life is ready to begin for you. Have a great time!
