hey guys and gals, I just registered and thought Id say hello!
My name is Kenny, and I recently moved from California, to Moscow Idaho. Bought a big fixer-upper home that, as it happens, doesnt have a garage. So my wife and I are building one this summer. I LOVE scratch built garages.... I get to build them how I want to!
Im already in the process of putting together preliminary plans, and shoveling my way through the local building department paperwork. This will be an attached 2 car garage, with 12 foot ceilings to allow one bay to have a two post lift. Due to the size of the property, it will be just 24 feet wide, but 30 foot deep.
Im a big car and residential construction guy. Grew up in a construction/engineering/building family, and now make a living as a commercial boom truck driver for a lumber yard.
Ive got two '89 SHO taurus'. Daily driver being a pretty modified SHO, and the other is in the project stage (soon to be scrapped for a hot rod build). Ive also got a big loud Powerstroke.
I guess you could say Im a Ford guy.... but not by choice. More like accident
Anywho, just thought Id say hi. Ill be around, searching thru the forum, and helping out wherever I can. Most of my friends refer to me as a book of residential building and automotive knowledge, so I might be able to help out a bit here.
