Hi All, thought i'd say a quick hello. Been lurking the board for a few yrs but our small subdivision home restrained my garage to a very tight 2 car garage. With 'extreme' organization I was able to get all my gear in there and 2 cars still in there year round.

Last September we found our 'forever house' after an 18 month search. Its 5 acres in beautiful Brown County, Indiana. We love it out here.

5 acres means land to play. Just got my building permit for a 50x30 pole barn and looking at my options (steel building or traditional pole barn). Also looking at putting in the PEX and insulation under the concrete so that at some point i the future I can get some good - steady heat to it.

Very excited to start the build and learning how to do things right the first time (I hope). This is my first time directing or getting anything built so that alone is a challenge.

Already got one car 'built'. After doing the engine conversion on jackstands I said NEVER again! (really it was the exhaust that pushed me over the edge).

BB: you'll have lots of reading to do to get yourself up to speed about the process of building something yourself or even if you are having it built. i'm guessing that's what you've been doing so far, but you can never know too much so now that you are a member you can not only read, but ask questions if you have any which helps a lot. i bet 1/3 of my posts are asking questions.

good luck on your build and any pictures of the 5 acres or the building pad so we can see if there might be any issues so far?

cheers and welcome
