Came across this site while looking for info about a bandsaw welder dad had in his garage. Dad liked metal working and since his passing, my brothers and I had to clean out the shop. Found this Bandit Bander welder thing for band saw blades. Even has the instruction sheet with it. Not sure if dad ever used it. Now just wondering if it is worth anything. Looking foward to checking out more of the posts. Thanks for the add to the site.

BC: i can't say I've ever seen that unit before and i do see a lot of tools. i'm just beginning to weld and if you don't already maybe keep it and learn with me because there are many members on here willing to answer questions as we have them.

not surprised Google sent you here because we talk about a lot of tools and how to use them and i was looking up stuff on here long before i ever joined.

here's a couple tips. one go in your profile and put in your location so when you ask questions we'll know what part of the world you live in and if you have any cool bear cub pics or a car or garage to post under your name click on Avitar and download one that will show up where my buffalo is that was a bunch of old tools and scraps welded together by a very talented guy in South Dakota.

ask questions if you have any more on the threads talking about them and if you have something cool to talk about start a thread in the right section.

welcome and sorry to hear your Dad is gone because sounds like he was a great guy.

Hello bearcub and welcome from Ohio! I'm sure it works. Got a broke blade that you can try it out? Clamp the blade down.....no gap......connect to car battery. I don't see any switch on it, but...... good luck.

That is a cool piece of equipment, I have not seen a 12 volt one before. Did he have a small sawmill? Anyways, welcome to the GJ from Maine. I am sure someone will know more about it, maybe post it up in the general tool discussion section. This section doesn't get as many views.

Dad had a small metal working shop. He had a lathe and milling machine. I didn't have a lot of interest in metal as a kid growing up, but wish I had. didn't know a thing about those tools, but had some great friends that did and helped us sell all of it. Now after getting on this site, I wish I had kept the milling machine. Finding out there are a lot of neat things you can do with one. But the one he had was large and heavy and very old. I had done a little research on it and it had been made in early 1940's. Lots of open pulleys with belts on them....not very OSHA compliant but it worked for him. He had notebooks of items he sketched out and then built. If he needed a tool to do something in his shop, he would design and make it. It was crude but worked. Us kids chuckled at some of the stuff we found because it was something he had made to use at one of our places when nothing else worked. Lots of good memories.
