Hi...I have been lurking here for the past few days. I wish I had found this site before I started my never-ending shop project.

I am a semi-professional (If I was rich or won the lottery then I could drop the semi prefix) drag racer. I am just a regular hardworking underfunded guy....doing everything I can to continue in making a dream come true while living the dream of racing. I race the Z28 with the National Muscle Car Assoc (NMCA), National Street Car Assoc. (NSCA) and this coming season American Drag Racing League (ADRL). I am expecially excited about racing with the ADRL next year since the class we will be racing in is Extreme 10.5 which is a Professional class.

The shop has been an on-going project which is obvious in use while it is still under construction. Which makes doing things a real challenge sometimes.:headscrat

Here are the stats.

Length: 42 Feet
Width: 32 Feet
Ceilings: 12.5 Feet

Before I started construction on the shop...the largest thing I ever built was that 3-rod book case I made in woodshop back in 8th gradge in junior high school.:lol_hitti

I will be the first to admit....I have made some major mistakes. The Original size was for it to be 30x40. Well somehow we gained a foot on all sides.:wtf: And the .5 foot in ceiling height.....forgot to consider the top and bottom plates for the walls. X2:wtf:

There is a 53ft sea container in front of the shop now to help with the next project. I am going crazy dealing with the concrete dust and want to do something to the floor. So we are using the sea container as a swing space to clear the shop floor to either epoxy or do a flooring system. I am pricing out my options at this time and of course $$$$ is a major factor.

Is there anyone in the Maryland, DC, Northern Virigina area that can provide some guidance on doing siding? Another undertaking is to get siding on my shop soon. The only thing I have done to protect the OSB is painted it to help protect it somewhat till I get something on it.

OMG.....where does time go? Talk about a blast from the past....back when I was younger and healthier and less a tornado (tree through the roof of the shop last year and one through the race car trailer).

I'm sad right now.....damn. Well most important thing is I am still alive.

Now that I am back on my feet I was in the shop for the first time in years yesterday.

Almost 10 years to the day. Embarrased......but thankful.

I'm sensing a real interesting story here.
