hey all names steve. they call me stubby cause I dont have legs. seriously. Car99 on here knows me. Maybe someothers. I have been lurking for a while and decided it is time to do something with my catch-all of a shop.
Mentioned earlier, I have no legs, so I am in a wheel chair. I have to have the floor space to roll around everything. And my shop is do dang cluttered. I dont even know where to start. Sometimes I just want to burn it down and start over.
I work on lawn mowers for a side job, since I dont have a real job. Im not rich but it does bring in some money. I also have a passion for anything with a gas engine. Go karts, motor cycles, anything. I am also wanting to get into restoration of old farm stuff.
As for back ground info on me.............Hummmmmm. Lets put it this way. My grandma said it best when she said I was a jack of all trades but master of none.........lol Really she did say that. I took auto in school. I learned some stuff but I am a "hands on" type of learner. I do have manuals and stuff but rarely ever get them out unless I cant remember something.
My biggest problem is myself. I cant get rid of nothing. and my shop is only 20 x 25. I dont have room for it all. I even rented a storage unit to put stuff in. I have my driveway full of lawn mowers, mini choppers, bikes, motorcycles, even a dang camper. For the most part, I let people get over on me and I am kinda too soft hearted to tell them to come get their ****. I mean they do help me out when it is convient for them, not me.
Future plans, I want to make my shop more accessable for me. Not everyone else but me. that is why I have 30in high benches. I cant keep my arms above my shoulders for long so that is why they are so short. Other people complain cause they have to bend over so much but hey its my shop not yours. I also have a bad problem of too many projects going on at the same time. Its not ADD OR ADHD or anything like that, it is, I have parts to make this, but when I run out of parts or materials, I dont have the money to finish or buy new parts or material. So it gets put off and on to the next project. And that is how everything gets cluttered up.
Now I have seen some pretty serious garages on here. I have seen some garages totally destroyed and rebuilt that I would have loved to have in my yard. I dont have the money to do things this way. I live on a very limited income. Of which I dont get money out of for my "big boy toys" its either lawnmower work or selling bike parts or what ever personal stuff I have to get what I want.
