Hey guys! New guy from Salisbury, NC. My name is Garrett.

A little about me, I am a mechanical engineer, I know, gasp, a mechanics worst nightmare, :lol_hitti . My wife and I just finished building our first house which she designed for the most part, we have our first baby due in a month. I work at a desk all day, so I like to come home and unwind by working with my hands, whatever it may be. We raise beef cattle, I have a mile long honey-do list from the wife for the new house, and when I get a chance I tinker with my vehicles.

Here is the link to my garage build (with a dab of the house added in)

My daily driver is a 2000 Ford F250 RCLB 6 Speed 7.3 with 200k mi. It's been a great truck, but I'll probably soon be trading up to a crew cab 3/4 or 1 ton truck soon since it's hard to fit a baby seat in a single cab truck. :eyecrazy:

My wife's daily driver is a 1997 Infiniti QX4. It's been a great car, we've owned it since 140k mi, it now has over 230k on it, other than normal maintenance, I've only had to replace a few suspension bushings, belts/pulleys, an alternator, and VC gaskets. Not bad for the age/mileage, but at this point I feel it is on borrowed time, so I am on the hunt for a newer SUV that I will feel more comfortable for my wife and daughter to ride around in. I'll likely keep it, and demote it to winter/bad weather/general beater duty since it does drive really well, and with the AWD is the most sure footed thing I have driven in the snow/ice. Also, since finding the wife a new car is first priority before I get a 4dr truck, this will have room for a car seat when I need to take her somewhere.

Now onto the projects

My 78 K30, I bought this from my fire department after we retired it in 2008 for a new Duramax, this was my tow rig, but overdrive and AC will sure be nice in the F250 now.

My 67 C10 project, my great grandfather bought this new in 1967, I replaced the inline 6 with a 5.3 LS out of a 2002 Silverado, but now it is torn apart for a full restoration

Our 69 K5 Blazer, also torn apart for a full restoration. Working on this together with my father in law.

Now then, a couple of my old vehicles
My 2001 2500HD 8" Fabtech, ORD shackle flip and zero rate, 5.13 gears, 38x15.5x20 Nittos, built this over 7 years, it was my pride and joy but recently sold it for a down payment on a house

My 2003 2wd CCLB Duramax I drove during college, loved this truck, but it was just too big and long to not have 4wd. I built my garage with dimensions keeping this long of a truck in mind, I wanted to be sure I could fit a CCLB truck in, and still shut the garage door with room to walk around it.

And of course, the shop help, I swear you can't get good help anywhere these days, hopefully when my daughter is big enough she'll be more helpful than my Border Collie/Chow mix Indy:
