Welcome,
You are just down the road from me. If you do not receive any information here I would recommend
Oldgas.com it is a petrolinia based forum that contains a wealth of information out vintage gas stations and equipment.

I remember seeing an old carbon pile battery tester with a Sun brand name. I bet that Gulf and other oil companies at the time contracted with companies like Sun to provide equipment for their gas stations when they were really SERVICE STATIONS.

edit:
I found this eBay listing for a Sun model.
Is yours like this?

I see that this model was sold in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s.

Who knows?
Welcome aboard. I have been to Racine before. I drive trucks for a living and have been up there a few times.

I don't have anything to help you with your battery tester though.

Welcome to the Forum from the Southwestern Corner of California.
Some of my better friends are Packer’s stock holders.
