Hello, my name is Ben and I'm a garagetoolcar-a-holic. I have been working on my addiction, and have had some success in suppressing it to a degree. I have a feeling that this forum will catapult me OFF THE WAGON.
I grew up on a farm, so I've got a "DIY" mentality. I hate paying someone to do work for me because the never seem to get it 'just right'. Working on the farm taught me how to (almost) do just about anything. Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fabrication, and just about anything you need to do I've had to do to some degree. My Dad was very particular about how things were done and how the equipment/tools were cared for. That rubbed off on me more than I thought it had...
After farming got old, I moved on and wound up selling and installing mobile electronics for a living. Probably the most fun job I've ever had, sadly the $ wasn't there for me.
I moved on to the local Honda car dealership, where I am currently the Internet Sales Manager (since July 2009). I've been there for over 7 years and ended up with a 99.3% customer satisfaction rating for 2009.
I also own/operate a small performance/repair/tuning shop that specializes in Honda/Acura vehicles. The shop came about because I can't go without some sort of project to tinker on. The new position at the dealership has cut into my tinker time, but a guy's gotta make a living. I tried giving up my cars/atvs/toys one time, but I just couldn't do it. My toolbox looked so lonely over in the corner of the living room (LOL) just collecting dust.
I will try hard to be a contributing member of the board, and at the same time hope to learn something. I just bought a new (to me) house that has a 19x22 garage attached, so I've got some work to do.
