Hello all you experts in the area of garage!

I am in the process of getting my new detached garage permitted.
The garage will be 24-28W x 32L, with an 18 x 9 door. Max height of building parapet walls will be 13 feet. The foundation will be concrete 3000psi, and the walls stucco painted to match house.

I have found much information on this site already, but there are some that I need to ask. What better place for an education than this forum?

Consider orientation and shade on the building for your area. I gain enough passive solar to heat & light mine in the winter. I need to shade the SW side for the summer.

Orientation is North and a little bit East. Going to have a three foot side door on the East side also.

I have a Silverado Duramax 3/4 ton truck that weighs around 7700lbs. I'm looking at 8000lb+ two post car lifts while waiting on contractor to do the drafting. I have worn a path around the proposed perimeter already..

Don't short cut your hoist pounds, go to a 9000 LB, just my thoughts, 7700 is to close to your lift capacity
