Glad I discovered this site, probably going to be my favorite. I'm retired [65] but I do have a part time job, apparently part time actually means that there is a small part of the time when you aren't working. I move Peterbilts around for the local dealership. Owned my own truck for many years, did interstate HHG moving and collector cars [ passport transport ]. Anyway most of what I do in the garage is motorcycle stuff but I do like to fab stuff, arc and spark, and I may at any time decide to fix something that isn't broken . I'll attempt to post a picture of my play pen.

Hello and welcome from downunder.

The picture worked well, you have a great setup there. I am hearing you about fixing something that's not broken, I call it "preventative maintenance".

As always enjoy..

There are some really nice places here and they cover the spectrum. Some small garages that are very well laid out and organized and some whose owners must have pretty deep pockets. You can tell what goes on in the various garages just by looking at them. They're all set up to meet there owners needs, it's all good. I like the paint half way up the wall, think I might do that. It's grey now so black and orange would look good, Harley racing colors. Those tile floors are cool, race deck etc. I wonder how that plastic would stand up to a lot of sparks from welding and grinding. I was told that the coatings didn't work very well on old cement that has had oil and stuff spilled on it. The other problem is what do you do with all the stuff in the garage while you paint the floor. With the tiles you could move everything to one side but I'm not sure you could do half and then the other half with a coating and I think I'd need to power wash the floor first. I suppose where there's a will there's a way. Well that's a project for next summer.

Welcome to the GJ Crab. I think I'm going to steal your idea on the stool you have. What is the seat from?

It's a sportster seat that someone left here. One Sunday I saw that seat and I had some steel laying around so I put the two together. Wheels are from a broken 4 wheel dolly. I also made the work bench's and the roll around work surface, made the bench grinder stand out of a clothing display rack from macys. I took some more pictures for the garage gallery if you're interested, the work surface really turned out good. It telescopes and fits over the fender when you're working on a car or pickup, it's really handy.

Where or when are we going to see them?

I posted them in the garage gallery 3 days ago, the thread is " my play pen " it's 4 or 5 pages back now . The forum really makes me want to do something with the floor and maybe paint the lower half of the walls. I might need to rent an enclosed trailer to put all the stuff in unless I did half at a time. That would be fine with the walls and I guess it would work fine with something like race deck. Anybody know how durable race deck is ? I guess sparks from welding and grinding is my main concern.
