Welcome buddy. There are many knowledgeable people here from very diverse backgrounds/trades. Everything from paramedics to chemists. I live about an hour north of Nashville and come down to TN often. Sit back and enjoy and the only downfall to this site that i have found so far is......

TC: welcome to the forum and if you have any questions just ask. if you want to put your location to show up under your name just go in your GJ's profile and put in city/state or area if you want to. that way others will have an idea of where you are if you are asking questions about building or buying or selling tools. also click on Avitar and maybe download a favorite picture to show up where my buffalo made from scraps is.
yes you will want to buy more tools if you stick around to being tool poor and knowing how to use them might be a good thing because it's pretty common among all of us.
