New guy from Texas

Currently have a 30x40 shop that is unbearable in the summer time. Yesterday inside temp was 105. Inside roof temp was 115. There is currently no ventilation in this shop. Looking for ideas on what I should do. Ridge vents, gable vents, intake fans, exhaust fans. It's to the point where I hate being in there. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Ridge vents work okay but the ones I've seen need to be closed when it rains or it rains in the building as well. I would suggest intake and exhaust fans or just about any way to get cross flow ventilation. But the best result would be insulation and a/c. Which is what I'm leaning towards in my building.

1. Where in Texas?
2. does the building currently have any insulation or a ceiling?
3. how many and what size doors?
4. Wall height?
5. old attic fans are cheap on craigslist. You could look at setting one up as a gable exhaust
I went the Spray foam/AC route but there ways to make a non-AC shop habitable.
Shade and air flow are the keys. Maybe even installing extra doors for ventilation.

Welcome to the GJ, might be better to start a post in the Heating/AC thread. I'm in the same boat, no insulation is the key factor here.

My shop is fairly comfortable right now. It is completely sprayed with closed cell foam, and has a ridge vent. Between the two, it is tolerable, and if I open a garage door to get some breeze, it's comfortable.

The closed cell spray is a lifesaver. My shop is 50x50, all metal. On the west side, I have metal overhead doors. When the sun is on them, you can fry eggs (sideways, I guess). But the metal panels right next to the doors are not even warm.
