well its Scotland specifically

came across this site by accident really, while looking for info on tools, saw a lot that interested me so decided to join, despite being on the wrong side of the pond

sooo.. a little about me, well I've been a mechanic since i left school 13 years ago (at 16 ....)

Recently i have been on a 'break" from working as one because i went back to college to study engineering, due to getting hacked off with my then employer (**** wages and work place was somewhat worn out etc) so been working in retail, not my thing tbh, and they kept refusing to give me full time hours, unfortunately the bottom dropped out of the job market as i was looking so been stuck doing this for a while, just got a new job tho back in the motor trade starting in a Volvo dealer in two weeks (well the company deals in all kinds, I'll be working in the Volvo dealership)

Other then that I'm into cars and motorcycles (what else) mostly older cars, but oddly enough I'm mainly into modern motorcycles. other than that, interested in tools, good quality ones anyway well i like nicely designed and quality stuff in general , seems there are a lot on here with the same idea so i guessed i 'might' fit in

What part of Scotland? I lived there for 2 years....Fraserburgh area to be exact....

My x-*****, I mean x-wife is from there....current wife is English....

Having lived there, I know to not judge the rest of the Scots based on how she was....

Cos if you were to judge them, they finish their bottle of Buckfast, rattle it off a wall then throw it at your face. Once satisfied with the initial pain and destruction, they bring out their lethal crack/washing powder concoction and fire that into your arm before walking away calmly muttering "FREEDOM!!!"

not to far from there, as I'm in Aberdeen, so similar weather too.. they don't call it the grey city for nothing

Seems the job market is improving well in the motor trade at any rate, as the dealers im going to work with are expanding there workshops and employing more staff..

retail isn't in a good way tho, staff budgets are being slashed etc at the moment, another reason why im getting out of it asap.. doing 4 peoples jobs for under £7 an hour.. no thanks

Same applies for anything that involves schools dude.

Im working my *** off for £7 an hour at the minute. Keeping my ear to the ground for any permanent positions elsewhere, but nothing has turned up yet in 6 months.

Still with the current climate here, Im just glad to be in a job, even if it is temp/contract through a recruitment agency.
