Just joined today. A neighbor told me about the forum yesterday. We are currently awaiting estimates on our new garage addition with guest suite. Planning on a garage with two bays but door for only one car because the wife does not want to see nothing but garage doors when she pulls into the driveway. As such, I will be looking for design ideas.

Welcome to the GJ from VA!
Make it a wide door if you plan on keeping 2 vehicles in the 2 bays...

There are so many gorgeous garage doors available these days...maybe you can help her get a new vision for what the doors could look like. Often times, the doors are much better looking than a sided or bricked wall. Google beautiful garage doors and let her pick the look.

Another trick is to use two single doors and set one back a couple feet. Use two different hipped rooflines and multiple exterior finishes to dress it up.
